Orthopaedic safety shoes
Safety shoes that fit
your feet
On this page, you can read more about the orthopaedic safety shoes themselves. For an overview of all (semi-)orthopaedic solutions – including alterations, arch supports and sizing advice – please see our page on orthopaedics.
What are orthopaedic safety shoes?
Orthopaedic safety shoes are safety shoes that have been specially made or adapted to meet the wearer’s individual needs. They combine full safety in accordance with European standards (EN ISO 20345:2011) with a fit that precisely matches the shape of the foot. These shoes are designed for people who find standard models do not provide sufficient comfort or support, for example due to an unusual foot shape or medical conditions.
Certified orthopaedic safety shoes
If semi-orthopaedic models or modifications are not sufficient, EMMA offers certified orthopaedic safety shoes that are fully made to measure.
These shoes are manufactured using a flexible production process, in collaboration with an orthopaedic shoemaker. The result is a shoe that:
- Fully complies with the European safety standard EN ISO 20345:2011
- Is precisely tailored to the wearer’s foot shape
- Offers extra support and comfort without compromising on safety
The production process works as follows:
- The orthopaedic footwear technician measures the foot and creates a suitable last.
- The shoe is then manufactured by a specialist partner using certified EMMA materials.
- The end result is a bespoke safety shoe that meets all the requirements of the standard.
