In many organisations, staff wear safety footwear. Sometimes this involves a small team, sometimes dozens or even hundreds of people. Everyone works in the same environment, but no two feet are the same. A shoe that doesn’t fit properly can cause discomfort, fatigue or even absenteeism. That is why it is important to consider not only safety, but also fit and comfort. As an employer, you want your staff to be able to work safely and comfortably. Well-fitting safety shoes are part of that. By paying attention to fit and comfort, you reduce the risk of complaints. What’s more, shoes that fit well are better able to do what they’re designed to do: provide protection and support whilst at work.
On-site passport service
To ensure this is properly supported, EMMA offers an on-site fitting service. We visit the workplace in our fitting van. Staff can try on different models and find out what works best for them. They also receive personalised advice from our Safety Footwear Advisor. During a fitting session, we look at size, width and fit, as well as the type of work, the surface and how much the person moves around. We pay attention to any foot problems or specific requirements, and where necessary we look for additional support, such as a suitable insole or a (semi-)orthopaedic solution.
This ensures that the choice is suited to the job and to the person wearing the shoes. It provides greater comfort whilst working and prevents shoes from having to be exchanged afterwards because they do not fit properly. At the same time, the process remains straightforward and manageable for the organisation.
Every organisation is different. That’s why we’re happy to work with you to find the right solution for your situation, from advice to an on-site fitting service.
